Groove ist ein häufig verwendetes Wort, das dennoch nicht leicht zu definieren ist. Der Groove ist in jedem Fall der Motor jeder tanzbarer Musik. Es bleibt dennoch die Frage: Wann oder wie groovt es denn nun? Um diese Frage dreht sich dieses Workout!
Am Anfang des Heftes stehen Klatschübungen, die dabei helfen, das Tempo zu halten, während Du Sechzehntelnoten klatschst. Jedes der Stücke in diesem Heft bezieht sich dann auf eine bestimmte Bluestonleiter, die bereits am Anfang im ersten Takt vorgegeben wird. Gernot Dechert führt dich anschließend mit typischen Funk-Gooves durch die faszinierende musikalische Welt von Maceo Parker & Co. - und das in allen Tonarten.
Jedes einzelne Pattern, von denen Dechert zahlreiche in seinen Stücken untergebracht hat, kann und soll in andere Tonarten transponiert werden. So bekommst Du mit diesem Heft eine Art Groove-Kreativkiste, aus der Du jederzeit das Passende herausüben kannst! Die beiliegende CD hilft, die Stücke zu üben und auch mit den gelernten Rhythmen und Bluestonleiter-Patterns zu improvisieren. Jeder Titel erscheint sowohl als Vollversion zum Hören als auch als Playbackversion - das sind Funky Grooves vom Feinsten!
