Description:
In the saxophone septet 'Irish Perpetuum' by Rupert Hechensteiner, the voices that gradually enter unite to form a harmonious overall sound with an Irish colouring. The individual melodies have a rhythmically and melodically repetitive character. This creates the feeling that - once set in motion - this flow remains eternally in motion. The aim is to convey a mood of vastness and tranquillitybut also strength and joy. The energy gradually increases until a moment of stillness is suddenly reached. This is followed by the end, which slowly disappears into nothingness.
