This work combines musical elements from both the contemporary classical and the jazz traditions. The three movements (I. Introduction & Allegro, II. Ballad, III. Allegro-Waltz-Allegro) can be performed separately. Though originally written for soprano saxophone and piano, it is equally idiomatic for the entire saxophone family.
