The works were specifically designed for performance by at least four musicians, with parts 1, 2, 3, and 4 considered mandatory to ensure the musical integrity of each piece. However, the collection is characterized by its flexibility and offers the option of adding additional parts (5 and/or 6 and/or 7 and/or 8) to enrich the arrangement when more musicians are present.
