Description:
This work for saxophone and audio accompaniment is part of the contemporary music scene. In keeping with the aesthetic of the Sax' urbains collection, it offers the same modern approach, allowing performers to explore different sonorities. Aimed at experienced musicians and amateurs alike, this contemporary music piece highlights the richness of today's repertoire.
Paris-Brooklyn Breakers is a nod to the funk and hip-hop of the 1980s and the French Touch, as well as breakdance or breaking (hip-hop dance). The piece is constructed like a song, with a verse - pre-chorus - chorus structure, followed by an improvisation section, then a pre-chorus and chorus again.
This piece was composed for the 2025 edition of the Saxo Voce competition. Audio accompaniments adapted to each tessitura are available for download.
