Description:
Bach's Trio Sonata No.4 in E minor / BWZ was first encountered by the arranger in the 3rd season of the Swiss crime series "Wilder". Whenever the traumatized angel of death carried out his campaign of revenge against those responsible for the deaths of his wife and daughter, this music began - indicating that beyond the bloody, poisoned gravity of the earth there could be a realm of reconciliation and peace.
In musicological literature, this trio sonata has been described as "a small miracle", as "timelessly circling around itself", as a "luxuriant trance state". Friedrich Kullmann's interpretation follows on from that of the Icelandic pianist Vikingur Ólafsson: straightforward and dynamic.
