Description:
HYPERSENSE, for solo instrument and piano, is a work by Yvan Lagger inspired by the inner world of hypersensitive people. Through an expressive and contrasting composition, the composer attempts to musically express the emotional rollercoaster ride that these people experience in everyday life. The piece is structured in a series of expressive images that reflect the sudden mood swings and intensity of feelings. Sadness, exuberance, melancholy and an almost burlesque humor are the faces of an exaggerated sensibility. Each section explores a different facet of emotion, sometimes in excess, sometimes delicately. The musical language, sometimes dense and charged, sometimes simple and fragile, underscores these rapid and often unpredictable transitions. The end of the work gradually calms down, like a return to the center, with a style of writing influenced by the minimalist current in the manner of Arvo Pärt. The rediscovered calm is not emotionless, but a form of serenity, almost meditative. HYPERSENSE is an intimate insight into the turmoil of the soul, a sonic mirror of emotional complexity.
