The Green Hill wurde im Auftrag des schweizer Euphoniumspielers Erich Schmidli geschrieben. Bert Appermont ließ sich dazu von keltischer Musik inspirieren und schuf eine Fantasie, in der alle Facetten des Baritons/Euphoniums zur Geltung kommen. Schöne lyrische Melodien, virtuose Läufe und farbenreiche Tuttis (Solist und Klavier) wechseln einanander ab. Ein schönes Stück für die Bühne.
