Description:
Five Miniatures for Solo Trombone shows both the technical agility and the lyrical, expressive side of the trombone. The work was composed for James Miller and consists of five contrasting movements: three fast, virtuoso movements, interrupted by two slower and lyrical sections. Each miniature has its own character, but they are thematically linked. In the final coda of the fifth movement, the opening motif returns and closes the circle.
