Joseph Haydn

Konzert Hob VIId:3

This concerto is based on Franz Joseph Haydn’s Horn Concerto No. 1 in D major, Hob. VIId:3, and embodies the elegance and clarity of the Classical style. This version for solo instrument and piano was arranged by Angelo Piazzini. Spanning three movements, the work combines energy, lyricism, and virtuosity. The radiant and expressive themes offer the soloist numerous interpretive possibilities. The slow movement captivates with its lyrical, delicate, and deeply musical character. The fast passages, on the other hand, highlight the performer’s agility, precision, and technical mastery. The piano part clearly conveys the timbres and balanced structure of the original orchestral accompaniment. Angelo Piazzini’s arrangement makes this significant work of the classical repertoire accessible in an intimate and practical setting. This piece, which is both brilliant and sophisticated, is ideally suited for concerts, competitions, or musical education.
