Description:
The melody to Jim McNeely's "Low Ball" can effectively be broken into two parts. The first features a swirling ostinato that is underpinned by a gentle half-time hip-hop feel. The second involves a much more involved and exacting harmonic progression, while the time feel switches to more of an open ended feel. The melody is followed by a series of trombone solos with a tricky repeated interlude between each that involves a bass trombone/left hand piano/bass soli.
