RANDOM for brass 5-tet
Commissioned work by the "Grazissimo Brass 5-tet". "RANDOM" was the first composition to be written after a creative break caused by the standstill during the coronavirus pandemic. It was a bit like ideas and know-how had to be captured again. It felt like 1000 styles wanted to take part in the composition - simply "RANDOM" - which I allowed in the end and tried to bring together to form a larger whole. Behind the catchy melodies and surprising twists and turns that the piece takes again and again is a very demanding part - for the performers.
Instrumentation:
1st trumpet in Bb, 2nd trumpet in Bb, horn in F, trombone in C, tuba in C, drum set, accordion
