These '24 Studies' have been transcribed from the fugues of 'The Well-Tempered Clavier', Book I, written by J.S.Bach in 1722.
The use of each of the twelve major and minor keys offered a unique collection for the period and stands as a landmark in the history of music.
Bach intended that the performer should have a great deal of freedom in interpreting this work. In this edition for trumpet, tempos have been indicated in general terms rather than with specific metronome markings.
