Description:
With "EGO - Fragments of the Self", Nico Samitz presents an expressive concert work for trumpet and piano, exploring the many facets of the human ego. The term ego is often associated with selfishness or arrogance. At the same time, it is an essential part of our personality, shaping our identity, helping us recognize our own boundaries and giving us the confidence to stand up for our beliefs. The composition transforms these contrasting ideas into a compelling musical journey. Alternating between powerful, self-assured passages and reflective, lyrical moments, the work invites listeners to discover the concept of the ego from new perspectives. A contemporary concert piece full of expression, emotion and rich musical colors.
