This work for solo trumpet was extracted from Rolf Wallin’s trumpet concerto, Fisher King, following a close collaboration with Håkan Hardenberger, for whom the concerto was originally written. Taking Wing was premiered by Hardenberger at the Verbier Festival, Switzerland, on 27 July 2023.
