Corrado Maria Saglietti

The Magic Trumpet

The Magic Trumpet by Corrado Maria Saglietti is a fascinating collection of nine duets for two trumpets, designed to take musicians on a musical journey that is both educational and poetic. Each piece has its own sound world, allowing musicians to explore a wide range of styles, atmospheres and techniques. The suite begins with Taranté, an energetic movement with lively accents in the style of a folk dance, followed by Specchi, in which the melodic lines answer each other as if in a game of mirrors. Ballata offers a lyrical, gentle and vocal moment, while Nuvole creates a floating atmosphere reminiscent of slowly drifting clouds in the sky. With Tango, Saglietti introduces a more rhythmic and sensual language, in contrast to Calls, a short and concise piece that emphasizes the direct dialogue between the two trumpets. Take It Easy brings a note of lightness and relaxation, followed by Monkyes, a humorous piece that encourages mutual listening and rhythmic precision. The collection ends with Al Galoppo, a virtuoso and rousing finale, a real little musical gallop. The Magic Trumpet thus presents itself as a rich and varied work, ideal for developing collaboration between two trumpeters and offering the audience a lively and colorful experience.
