Description:
Haydn wrote his trumpet concerto in 1796 for Anton Weidinger (1767-1852), the trumpeter in the Court Orchestra in Vienna.
Weidinger is considered to have been the finest exponent of this instrument. His experiments resulted in the creation of a fully chromatic trumpet, and it is obvious that Haydn's concerto was written for this instrument. Also includes a Bb trumpet part.
