This booklet is primarily intended for wind players who have problems with one or more of the various trumpet techniques. Each of these problems will be examined here from its physical aspects and tackled with the help of specially designed exercises.
It is fair to say that hardly any of the past decades have brought us profound new discoveries with regard to the essential foundations of trumpet playing. It is no less true, however, that old insights, presented in a new form, can bring to light hitherto unsuspected or neglected aspects of these fundamentals.
However, this work is not only intended for problem-ridden wind players, but for all those who may be interested in the views and theories set out below.
I sincerely hope that this work will fulfill its purpose of being a stimulus and help to all wind players.'
