The creations of the "chefs de cuisine" of Viennese music are rich in melodies and - despite their apparent simplicity - require a sophisticated playing technique in order to allow the multi-faceted scores to unfold their full elegance. With its surprising rubati, accelerandi and sudden stops, Viennese music is also the best example of the fact that notes can only ever represent part of the musical message. Many things simply cannot be notated and require an "oral tradition" of performance practice as an important supplement. The good thing is that there are sufficient audio documents available. This edition of sheet music is intended to pass on the beautiful melodies to future generations. The texts are designed so that they can be used for small concerts and/or class evenings to introduce the respective number.
