Musical instruments are just tools that everyone chooses personally in order to express themselves musically. To be able to make music, the tool has to work. The same applies to the skill of playing music. This skill must be developed and cultivated. In my lessons I have always placed musicality above all else, and I am convinced that this must be the case; however, it is just as clear that in order to express a musical idea correctly, it is necessary to master its realization. Many of these exercises have been adapted from studies for other instruments, many are original. All have their uses. Each brass player must find his own ideal practice. It will be different for everyone and even vary from day to day. This is the crux of the matter: no one work can really guide a musician to their ideal practice, but I have collected enough material in this booklet to offer everyone a wide range of solutions. The exercises in this booklet are very easy to memorize; play them by heart as soon as possible. Try to change the menu every day. Have the courage to experiment. These exercises are just germ cells of ideas. Be your own teacher: a patient, persistent, wise and kind teacher who knows your personal needs and the joy that musical practice gives. Practice like a good student, balancing patience and perseverance.
