Description:
Louis Spohr's "The Saviour's Last Hours" from 1835 is one of the most important Passion oratorios of the 19th century. The freely composed text by the well-known publicist Friedrich Rochlitz inspired Spohr to create a magnificent setting of the Passion events from Gethsemane to the interrogation of Jesus to the burial. The dramatic folk choirs require full presence and well-prepared singers - no problem with the "Carus Choir Coach"! "Carus Choir Coach" offers choir singers the unique opportunity to individually rehearse their choral part in the overall sound of choir and instruments. A separate mp3 CD or a download album with all choral parts is available for each vocal range. The "Carus Choir Coach" is based on recordings by renowned performers who have played from the carefully prepared Carus Urtext edition. The choral movements are available in three variants: 1) original recording, 2) Coach: each part is played on the piano, original recording in the background, 3) Coach in Slow Mode: by reducing the tempo of the coach to 70% of the original, complicated parts can be practiced effectively. The musicians are: Johanna Winkel (soprano), Florian Sievers (tenors), Maximilian Vogler (tenors), Thomas E. Bauer (baritone), Felix Rathgeber (baritone), Arttu Kataja (basso), Magnus Piontek (basso) – Kammerchor Stuttgart, Die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen – Frieder Bernius.
