The new Freiburg Choir Booklet is aimed in particular at smaller choirs and their subgroups, as well as at singing circles or spontaneous ensembles that want to make a church service musically varied. The repertoire for two voices can be used flexibly and the rehearsal effort is manageable.

The collection contains 36 two-part pieces from different eras and styles, from the Renaissance to pop music contributions. They can be sung flexibly by female and/or male voices, high and low voices, choral groups or soloists depending on availability. In doing so, the editors – experienced church musicians from the Archdiocese of Freiburg – are taking into account the changing circumstances, which increasingly require a high degree of flexibility from the musicians.

Optionally, instruments can also be used – to amplify the singing voices, to replace a voice or as an instrumental overvoice. For most of the pieces there is a keyboard accompaniment. In the case of hymns, the congregation can also be involved, for example in the alternation of verses.

The Freiburg Choir Booklet 1 offers repertoire for divine services throughout the church year and also takes into account Mass celebrations and times of day as well as special services such as the celebration of First Communion. The focus is on the Catholic church music tradition, but numerous works are also suitable for worship practice in other denominations.

In addition to the popular Freiburg choir books for four-part church choir and for children's choirs, the Freiburg Choir Booklet 1 offers a charming, two-part repertoire that is still hardly known.
