Haydn composed his first mass as a teenager, when he and his brother were still singing as boy sopranos at St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna. He probably wrote the two ornamented solo parts for himself and his brother. The choir effectively joins in the jubilation of the solo sopranos with many short interjections - helpful if you have a good ear for the solo voices in order to find the right notes. Carus Choir Coach offers choir singers the unique opportunity to rehearse their choir voice individually in the overall sound of choir and instruments. A separate audio CD with all choral parts is available for each voice part. The Carus Choir Coach is based on recordings by renowned interpreters who have performed from the carefully prepared Carus Urtext edition. The choral parts are available in three versions: Original recording, Coach (respective part is played along on the piano, original recording in the background) & Coach in Slow Mode: by reducing the tempo of the Coach to 70% of the original, complicated parts can be practiced effectively. The musicians are: Ann Hoyt (soprano 1), Julie Liston (soprano 2), Richard Lippold (basso) - Trinity Choir, Rebel Baroque Orchestra - J. Owen Burdick.
