Description:
Amada Noche—Beloved Night. When composing this piece, Chilean composer Martín Letelier envisioned the silvery light of the moon reflecting off the waves of the sea, combined with the sensation of nature’s sheer immensity, which seems both close and intimate. The work sets to music a poem by the Chilean author Malú Urriola. It was composed in 2020–21 during a time of isolation and uncertainty and invites listeners to find not a threat but a sense of security in the darkness.
