Description:
With "Das Wort ward Fleisch" (SWV 385), Heinrich Schütz created a masterpiece of early Baroque vocal art, brimming with festive radiance and profound intimacy. This six-part motet (SSATTB) sets the Christmas mystery of the Incarnation to music with incomparable expressive power and harmonic finesse in the Dorian mode. This high-quality full score from the renowned Carus-Verlag provides choirs and ensembles with the ideal foundation for a stylish and authentic performance. In addition to the magnificent vocal writing, the work can be flexibly expanded with instruments (six instrumental parts, double bass, and organ). An included singable English translation also opens up versatile performance opportunities for concerts and festive services during the Advent and Christmas seasons. An indispensable choral work for ambitious ensembles!
