After an introduction characterized by expressive chromaticism, simpler choral influences are harmonically as well as thematically at the center of the work. In this motet, the 4-part male choir plays a larger role. The conclusion is formed by an extensive fugue. In this work, the organ has different functions, from pure accompaniment to the dialogue partner of the choir.
