The title "Guarda in giù" ("Look down") is conceived on two levels. On the one hand, it stands for looking into one's own self, and on the other for the deep foundation of this composition, which is conceived from the bass and rich in overtones.
The seemingly endless pulsating recumbent tones and the spatial effect of the piece are supported by the pure phonetic language in its soothing effect. The text lacks semantic meaning, but not a lush colorfulness and great expressiveness.
The web of voices above the bass, which includes noise-like sounds in addition to differentiated vocal colors, reflects Charlotte Seither's ideas of the voice as the most direct form of human expression.
