Description:
Wie alle Kantaten zum Michaelisfest ist auch die Choralkantate 'Herr Gott, dich loben alle wir' BWV 130 von 1724 eine ausgesprochen prachtvolle Komposition. Nicht nur im Eingangschor und Schlusschoral sind die drei Trompeten und Pauken beteiligt, in der ersten Arie 'Der alte Drache brennt vor Neid' wird der Bass sogar nur von Trompeten, Pauken und Continuo begleitet. Einen überraschenden Kontrast hierzu bildet die zweite Arie 'Lass, o Fürst der Cherubinen', in der neben dem Tenor und dem Continuo nur eine Solo-Querflöte erklingt. Der originale Stimmensatz wurde im 19. Jahrhundert auseinandergerissen und ist heute in der Welt verteilt. Einige Stimmen konnten für diese Ausgabe erstmals wieder berücksichtigt werden.
