The Berlin choirmaster and music teacher Michael Betzner-Brandt is known as a particularly creative mind in the choral scene - for example through his "I can't sing" choirs. In order to be able to sing Verdi's Requiem with his chamber choir, he has arranged the work as a version for small ensemble. The basis for this is the piano score, which is expanded to include parts for horn, double bass, marimba, gran cassa and timpani. The striking orchestral colors of the original are not lost, but appear in more delicate tones.
