The first page of the autograph of the Mass K. 49 (47d) bears the crossed-out (autograph?) note in Vienna below the author's name. Two other, unidentified hands, still belonging to the 18th century, have added: 1768 and in Vienna. Mozart's handwriting and the quality of the paper seem to confirm this information. In addition, Mozart notated the draft for the Gloria (bars 1 to 18) on a page whose other side his father had probably previously used for the fair copy of the piano reduction of aria no. 11 from Bastien et Bastienne K. 50 (46) - the obvious model for the arrangement published in the second half of 1768 with the beginning of the text "Daphne, deine Rosenwangen" K. 52 (46c). In Leopold Mozart's list of Wolfgang's works composed up to 1768, "Eine kleinere Messe a 4 vocibus 2 Violinis & c" appears in the penultimate position; Mozart's sister added the date 1768 to this. Although the obbligato viola is not listed here, this composition is probably the Mass K. 49 (47d).
