Description:
In the case of the two motets presented here, the question of the composer or composers is still disputed today, and it has been answered differently again and again over the course of time. In the case of the two motets, the reasons for this lie in the contradictory composer information in the surviving sources and in the ambiguous stylistic findings. In the case of the motet BWV Anh. 160, there is also the fact that it has survived in a variety of sources with often very different readings, so that the authenticity of the work's form is also subject to doubt.
