Description:
In seinem neuen Werk "Sonne, Mond und Sterne" vereint Komponist Peter Schindler Texte aus fünf Jahrhunderten zu einem Kaleidoskop des Lebens. Alltägliches, Derbkomisches wird genauso wie Tiefernstes besungen. Einige Texte sind aus der Feder von bedeutenden Dichterinnen und Dichtern, andere Texte sind aus dem Volke aufgesammelt und als "Verfasser unbekannt" in die großartige Sammlung "Des Knaben Wunderhorn" eingegangen.
Mit der Bezeichnung "Szenische Kantate" wählte der Komponist einen Gattungsbegriff, der einerseits auf die Bezeichnung Kantate als ein Werk für verschiedenartigen Gesang mit Instrumentalbegleitung zurück greift, andererseits aber durch die Möglichkeit der szenischen Darstellung an einigen Stellen durchaus die Nähe zur Oper oder zum Musical sucht. "... ein bunter Klangkosmos, scheinbar der Zeit entrückt, mit Verweisen auf die Musik der Renaissance, des Barock, auf Chanson, Jazz und Musical, und doch in seiner Frische aktuell und kaum erhört. ... Abseits eines musikalischen Eklektizismus hat Schindler hier eine einzigartige, überaus selbstständige Klangsprache entwickelt, welche die europäische Kulturgeschichte an einem Abend mühelos zu rekapitulieren vermag."
