Description:
eXplora Grade 1+
In
the 19th century, Vienna was literally gripped by a waltz fever that spread through all walks of life and spawned countless compositions. The most famous waltz composer, also called the 'Waltz King', was Johann Strauss (1825-1899). He contributed significantly to the worldwide success of the so-called 'Viennese Waltz'. In the Explora composition 'Ein Strauss für Dich ...' Thomas Berghoff tries to pick up the characteristic Viennese form of the waltz and to transfer the actually inimitable 'Viennese charm' to a level of difficulty suitable for beginners. The introduction 'Moderato' leads from bar 15 into the actual waltz tempo (Tempo di Valse). With upbeat to 29, another motif offers the opportunity to phrase beautiful melodic arcs. From measure 53 and 68, further themes are added, which finally lead from measure 84 into a coda to the end of the waltz. Have fun with the waltz melodies a la Johann Strauss !
