Description:
Amongst Henry Haagenrud's numerous compositions for accordion, Green Pastel is perhaps the most famous. This waltz, characterized by Haagenrud's style of playing, has a rather continental feel to it and quite a few Norwegian accordeonists have played it over the years. Perhaps due to its 'international' sound, it has also found its way to Russian and French performers.
This arrangement for military band and accordeon soloist was written by Svein H. Giske for a concert in 1998 with virtuoso performer Håvard Svendsrud and Forsvarets Musikkorps Vestlandet (now: The Norwegian Navy Band Bergen). After that, it has been performed by several soloists and bands, amongst them (O/ivind Farmen and The Norwegian Air Force Band.
