Description:
In 1873 Tschaikowsky composed his "Six Piano Pieces Opus 19". 15 Years later he arranged the fourth movement, "Nocturne", for cello and orchestra. The composer's preferred cellist, Wilhelm Karl Friedrich Fitzenhagen, had already made an arrangement of the same piece for cello and piano. Tschaikowsky then took this arrangement as the starting point for his own version, which, however, was not published until 1956. Dutch arranger Marc Koninkx now transcribed this "Nocturne" for Cello with accompaniment of a Wind Ensemble.
