Description:
Jacob de Haan thus draws inspiration from very different things. Travels abroad, walks, everyday experiences. But also experiences from the past. During his conservatory years, Jacob de Haan played in a ska band. 'Especially for this band I wrote a number. This melody stuck in my memory. Many years later, during a walk in the park, it occurred to me that the number would also be thematically interesting for a brass band arrangement. ' Queen's Park Melody belongs to the category of 'light music with baroque influences.' The latter is a reference to the lushly decorated statues in the park. 'The combination of baroque and pop? That's wonderful to play!' - says the composer...
