Since the overwhelming success of the "St. Thomas Choral", Pavel Stanék has repeatedly faced the desire of many performers to compose a sound piece comparable to the "St. Thomas Choral". The composer has undoubtedly succeeded with "Remember Me". In texture and style, it is less sacred than the "St. Thomas Choral", but the work is characterized by a mournful fullness that flows out in an almost endless melody. The voice leading and harmonic richness almost remind one of the music of Richard Wagner or Anton Bruckner. Although the piece is classified as "only" for the intermediate level, the highest demands are placed on the emotionality and listening ability of all performers. To interpret "Remember Me" meaningfully, to dynamically shape the huge arcs of tension, the work cannot simply be played through quickly as a rehearsal piece. This would also not be possible in terms of wind conditioning. "Remember Me" is wonderfully suited to develop a flowing performance with an intermediate level orchestra and to familiarize amateurs with the possibilities of a deeply felt interpretation. The work will have a similarly impressive success as the "St. Thomas Choral".
