Description:
Since its foundation in 1926, the Allgäu-Swabian Music Association (ASM) has stood for the combination of tradition and future in wind music. Originating from the merger of committed music associations, the ASM has developed into one of the largest wind music associations in Bavaria and is still a musical home, cultural anchor and social meeting point in rural areas. With around 40,000 active musicians in 640 clubs and over 1,000 ensembles, it has a lasting influence on musical life in Swabia.
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the ASM, Kurt Pascher composed the march Tradition & Zukunft. As an anniversary march and musical gift to the association, the work consciously combines the tried and tested with new impulses and thus reflects the attitude and mission of the ASM.
