Description:
Some time ago I made it my task to gradually write various piano trios in non-normative instrumentation (i.e. piano, violin and violoncello). Most recently, the present trio for clarinet in Bb, violin and piano was written. In this line-up, I only know of "Kontraste" by Béla Bartók from our time. So that not only arrangements have to be used, I would like to enrich the literature with an original composition. The introduction is – contrary to the title – more than a mere introduction, an independent slow movement with a diverse range of expression. The following Capriccio is a thoroughly witty piece. In addition to his wealth of motifs, a certain virtuosity imposes itself on each instrument. There is a motivic-rhythmic connection between the two movements. (Hans-Günther Allers)
