Four chamber music works by Reger scholar and composer Johanna Senfter (1879–1961) are united in this memorial volume, two for standard string ensembles: String Trio op. 54 and String Quartet op. 28, as well as two for more unusual ensembles: Trio for clarinet, horn and piano op. 103 and Sextet for flute, oboe, horn, violin, viola and violoncello op. 44. The piano trio, for which no definite dates have survived, was probably composed in the late period, the other three operas in the first half of the 1920s. Meticulously edited with a foreword and critical report by Wolfgang Birtel.
