Description:
Edition: score incl. CD for image projection.
Setting of Psalm 90 and sayings of the Füssener Totentanz for 4-stg. Choir, soprano, speaker, 1-5 flutes (or other woodwind instruments) and tambourine. Org. and guitar ad lib. Part. Ring binding, 44 p. Duration of performance: 33 min.
Inspired by Jakob Hiebeler's "Füssener Totentanz" from 1602 (rhyming verses from his Dance of Death paintings), Ralf Klotz created a work in which he combines the rhyming verses from 10 of Hiebeler's paintings with the text of the 90th Psalm (Lord, teach us to remember that we must die). The result: a successful, colorful synthesis of polyphony, psalmody and moderately modern tonal language! The work is given particular depth by the multimedia combination of music, speaker and possible image projection.
