Description:
The Trio in G major / E minor op. 103 by the Oppenheim composer and pupil of Max Regers can be assigned to the composer's late work on the basis of the opus number, even if no year of composition and no premiere can be determined. The work for the unusual instrumentation of clarinet, horn and piano presented the editor Wolfgang Birtel with the challenge of developing an authentic musical text from the original, which was littered with careless errors. Since there are no other sources for this work, the practical exchange with the Else Ensemble was a great benefit for Birtel. The present edition of this trio opens up another charming chamber music work by this late Romantic composer.
