Rolf Schweizer

Europäische Weihnachtslieder-Suite

It has been known for some time that it is not only German Christmas carols that exert their undisputed charm. In the eight-movement suite, Schweizer therefore also incorporates carols from other European countries, which are at least as concise and characterize Christmas just as well. The underlying German texts have a unifying effect here. It goes without saying that the individual self-contained parts can be performed separately. It also lends itself to the reading of suitable texts between the individual carol arrangements.
For 4-piece mixed choir and chamber orchestra (2 fl., 2 ob. or clar., 1 fag., string quintet and percussion ad lib.)
