Description:
The quantitative imbalance between Advent and Christmas cantatas often leads to works with a Christmas character being performed long before December 24th. In response to this lack of practical Advent cantatas, the Bayreuth composer Michael C. Funke created this technically simple and tonally well-balanced work for soprano solo, speaker, choir and instruments; the congregation can also take part in the well-known final chorale ('Den Herren will ich loben'). With the addition of further (shorter) vocal and instrumental works, this 20-minute cantata, which is convincing in every respect, can serve as the main work in a full-voiced, 'pure' Advent concert.
The score is copy-protected for single copies. This is only omitted if the choral score in choral size or the orchestral material is purchased at the same time.
