Description:
Carl Orff's Carmina Burana is probably the most famous choral work of the 20th century. Originally conceived as a staged cantata, Carl Orff created a masterpiece with this anthology of Middle High German and Latin texts. The newly set and revised edition of Carmina Burana consistently harmonizes the entire performance material, namely the conducting score, piano reduction, choral score and orchestral material. A detailed foreword by Thomas Rösch explains the genesis, form and reception of the work and makes this edition a sound basis for rehearsals and performances.
