Description:
The fifth and final concerto of Beethoven's piano concertos is also their climax and reflects all the composer's skill and experience. The surviving manuscripts provide an excellent insight into Beethoven's working methods and practical performance intentions.
The editor Jonathan Del Mar takes into account the indications in the autograph of the solo piano part in detail and thus restores Beethoven's differentiated performance instructions for the first time in a modern edition. This concerns, among other things, the figured bass line in the left hand of the piano part during the tutti passages.
As with the Concertos Nos. 1-4, the piano reduction of the present edition also appears with a separate solo part, which contains all the information necessary for the soloist and enables him to lead the ensemble from the instrument.
