Description:
Immerse yourself in the magical, legendary world of Romanticism with Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's enchanting concert overture "The Fair Melusine" (Die schöne Melusine) Op. 32. With peerless mastery, the composer evokes the gentle undulation of water, fairy-tale poetry, and dramatic passion through rich orchestral colors. This high-quality Urtext full score from the renowned Bärenreiter Verlag offers conductors, musicologists, and orchestras an authoritative, source-critical edition of the highest standard. A standout feature of this publication is the inclusion of two distinct versions of the masterpiece, granting fascinating insights into Mendelssohn’s creative process. Scored for standard Romantic orchestra (flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons, horns, trumpets, timpani, and strings), this volume excels with outstanding engraving quality and optimal readability—an essential resource for both study and performance.
