When and where was Mozart's flute concerto written and for whom? 1777 or 1778, Salzburg or Mannheim? How much did Ferdinand Dejean actually pay, only 96 or the promised 200 florins? Henrik Wiese, solo flutist of the Bavarian State Orchestra, who in the meantime has made an outstanding name for himself both as soloist and editor and who is considered by experts to be one of the best connoisseurs of Mozart's wind works, has shed new light on the confusion caused by Mozart himself. This applies to the history of the composition and especially to the musical text: Wiese has consulted all copies known today and all available copies of the first edition. The edition for flute and piano additionally contains a facsimile of the solo part of the first edition as well as cadenzas that come from the oldest manuscript sources or were composed by the editor according to Mozart's model.
