This study score is based on the edition of Le nozze di Figaro published by Ludwig Finscher in 1973 as part of the New Mozart Edition and the critical report by Ulrich Leisinger published in 2007.
Many sources relating to Mozart's first opera from the Lorenzo Da Ponte trilogy only became accessible again after the publication of the NMA edition, including the autograph score of Acts 3 and 4, which is now in the Biblioteka Jagiello?ska Kraków, significant parts of the original vocal score and Acts 2 to 4 of the director's copy of the 1786 premiere.
These original sources, which are now accessible, offer binding solutions to some questions that have remained unanswered until now and are reproduced in this study score.
