It thus offers alternative readings that make the performance practice of the time tangible for today's practice. The large-scale, entertaining "Magnificat" was written in September 1815.The
present edition is based on the original text of the New Schubert Edition and offers an informative preface by the editor with notes on the edition (German/English). Schubert's original basso continuo notation of the score has been modernised in the performance material and adapted to the requirements of today's practice.
